Goals, in brief

Our goals are responses to community needs we've identified through research.   The primary areas of need are improved education, research and treatment.

In pursuing our goals, our Guiding Principle is wherever possible to provide free resources to the community.   Why?   Because our community includes many low income people.

To achieve our goals we have an experienced, capable and well-regarded Board of Directors, working with other FM & CFS organisations and fine corporate partners.

We've developed a vision for the future, costed it, and work towards it every day.

We also believe the sum total of the community's needs could be served with a $10 million dollar a year budget. Seed funding would help us get the process started. This large community could then sustain it once all its members are found, at $10 each.

    Goals within our reach

  1.   Research:   Help researchers network across disciplines.
  2.   Research:   Find funding for Canada's first FM & ME/CFS Research Chairs. ($2 million each)
  3.   Education:   Develop educational materials for each medical discipline.
  4.   Education:   Distribute free educational materials to health professionals.
  5.   Education:   Reduce misdiagnosis, aide early intervention, through education.
  6.   Education:   Certify a vanguard of patients to educate others, share the knowledge.
  7.   Education:   Tell our story to the Canadian public.
  8.   Treatment:   A 24/7 toll-free crisis line.
  9.   Treatment:   Involve the Federal Government in seeding an infrastructure
  10.   Treatment:   Encourage Provincial Governments to properly cover treatments
  11.   Organizational - Build organisational capacity, planning, process, and accountability, to increasingly improve service to the community.
