Educational Resources for Patients
|
We do our best to organise part of the wealth of information resources available freely on the Internet. For our part, we negotiated with Haworth Press to gain the right to post the Canadian Concensus Protocols on our site for your use. We will continue to work with partners and experts to develop new educational materials, for each medical profession, for medical schools, the public, and for patients.

CFS Guidelines - Psychiatry
FM-CFS Canada is inviting Experts to develop free profession-specific guides based on the Canadian Concensus Protocols. This guide for psychiatrists is the first one. Our deepest thanks to Dr. Ellie Stein.
Research review:
Provided graciously by a Canadian researcher, the abstracts in this collection are intended to provide doctors and other health professionals with a convenient overview of trends in research on fibromyalgia
published in medical journals in the year 2003. The studies were selected from the extensive literature on fibromyalgia so as to cover a wide range of subjects in limited space.

Free Fibromyalgia and ME/CFS resources
Two members of the FM-CFS Canada Medical Advisory Committee once reviewed these resources and selected the best we could find, but please review our dislaimer below. To help you quickly scan through some of the best free resources, we've presented some sites and their documents in list form. A number of these organisations freely shared their materials for inclusion on a CD authored by FM-CFS Canada for doctors, distributed in the Ottawa region to 1,000 practitioners. The CD includes the full-length Canadian Concensus Protocols.

About the Overviews of the Canadian Consensus Documents for ME/CFS and FMS
The Canadian Consensus Documents for ME/CFS and FMS, which were the fruition of many years of lobbying by the National ME/FM Action Network, were written by International Expert Consensus Panels selected by Health Canada. The Canadian Consensus Documents have received excellent international reviews.
FM-CFS Canada recognized that short Overviews of the Consensus Documents may be of further assistance to busy medical practitioners. In response to the request from FM-CFS Canada, Dr. Bruce Carruthers, principal author of the ME/CFS Consensus Document and Co-editor of the FMS Consensus Document, and Marjorie van de Sande, Consensus Coordinator for both the ME/CFS and FMS Consensus Documents, kindly wrote such Overviews. These Overviews are follow-ups of the Canadian Consensus Documents and have been reviewed by the Expert Consensus Panels. In order to ensure that the integrity of the Consensus Documents and the Overviews is maintained, Dr. Carruthers and Ms. van de Sande wrote and published the Overviews independent of any organization.
